MA in Latin with Teaching Certification

Qualified students who wish to pursue a Masters Degree in Latin together with Latin Teaching Certification may apply simultaneously to the Department of Classics and to the UTeach Liberal Arts Post-Baccalaureate Program.  Upon admission to both programs, students can fulfill the requirements for the MA in Latin and for Latin Teaching Certification in the State of Texas in a two-year program (including a summer).

  • 1st Fall Semester: 2 graduate courses in Latin, 1 graduate course in Greek or Classical Civilization, UTL 101 and 202 (12 hours)
  • 1st Spring Semester : 2 graduate courses in Latin, 1 graduate course in Greek or Classical Civilization,  EDP 363M   (12 hours)
  • Summer:   ALD 322  (3 hours)
  • 2nd Fall Semester: MA Report ,  UTL 303L,  LAT 386 (Teaching Methods in Latin) (9 hours)
