8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

More than 20 nationally recognized Latina/o poets from across the United States will gather in Austin, Texas for the 2012 CantoMundo Poetry Workshop & Retreat.  These poets, along with guest poet Roberto Tejada, will present their work in the Auditorium (Room 1.402) of the Student Activity Center (SAC) on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin on Friday, July 13, 2012. This reading is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public.

This public reading is being hosted by CantoMundo, a national poetry workshop dedicated to supporting and developing Latina/o poetics. CantoMundo provides a space where Latina/o poets can nurture and enhance their poetics; lecture and learn about aspects of Latina/o poetics currently not being discussed by the mainstream publishers and critics; and network with peer poets to enrich and further disseminate Latina/o poetry.
