"Indigenous Migrant Women in the United States: The Intersections of Agency, Oppression, and Solidarity Spaces"

This plática by M. Aránzazu Robles Santana (Ph.D. Candidate, Universidad de La Laguna, Canary Islands, Spain) focuses on how indigenous women who migrate to the United States encounter several injustices. Their gender, along with their indigenous and migrant identities, places these women in a path of oppression. Nevertheless, the existence of “solidarity spaces” such as social and political organizations, attempts to create a support network for indigenous migrant women in this multilayered and worrisome situation.
