Jim Sauer (L) and Dr. Maxwell Stinchcombe (R)

From April 28th-April 30th, Dr. Maxwell Stinchcombe competed in the 2017 nationwide U.S. Masters Swimming Championships. He tied 1st place in the 50-yard freestyle finals and won 1st place in the 100-yard freestyle finals for the 60-64 age group. Nearly 2,000 competitors and spectators went to Riverside, California for the event.

Dr. Stinchcombe has been living in Austin for 23 years.  In his free time, he likes to swim and tour the greater Austin area on his bike.

Fun Fact: This year Dr. Stinchcombe was reunited with teammate Jim Sauer.  He and Sauer originally trained together on the same swim team in the mid-70’s.
