Zulfikar A Ghose

Zulfikar Ghose is a Professor Emeritus in the English Department.  After receiving his B.A. in English and Philosophy from Keele University in 1959, Ghose became a cricket correspondant on The Observer and reviewed books for Western Daily Press, TLS, New Statesman, and The Spectator.  He became a British citizen in 1961 and published his first book, The Loss of India, in 1964.

In 1969, Ghose emigrated to the United States to begin teaching at UT Austin and has been with the English Department since, publishing almost two dozen books, as well as having his poetry published in such magazines and journals as The Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times, and the New Statesman.
