Workshop: "Arms Control and Climate Diplomacy"
Fri, February 22, 2013 | GAR 4.100
8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
On Friday, February 22, UT's School of Law, Institute for Historical Studies, Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies, Center for European Studies, and LBJ School of Public Affairs will co-sponsor a day-long workshop on arms control and climate diplomacy.
The workshop will examine two questions: What can we learn from the extensive research about policy in both of these vibrant fields? How can we advance our thinking about international arms control and environmental negotiations by bringing insights from these two fields together?
We are especially interested in how the 65+ year history of nuclear arms control negotiations can inform current deliberations about environmental/climate issues. The workshop will explore historical legacies, comparative policy developments, and future possibilities. The workshop will focus on elucidating an emerging comparative research agenda.
