José Bowen on Teaching Naked: Why Removing Technology from your Classroom Will Improve Student Learning
DIIA, in collaboration with the Butler School of Music, invites you to hear educator and acclaimed jazz musician José Antonio Bowen share his fresh perspective on using technology to revitalize teaching and learning. He will address ideas he presented in his groundbreaking article Teaching Naked: Why Removing Technology from your Classroom Will Improve Student Learning, which appeared in 2006 in The National Teaching and Learning Forum.
Bowen has served as dean of the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University since 2006. He has taught at Stanford and Georgetown, and he was the founding director of the Centre for History and Analysis of Recorded Music at Southampton, England.
