Where are they going from here?  Four of our doctoral students have received academic positions for next year.
Academic Positions

Kate Mesh (upper left) is headed to the University of Haifa in Israel to take a two-year postdoctoral position funded by the European Science Foundation. She will be working with Prof. Wendy Sandler, who is one of our department’s outstanding alums (Ph.D., 1987). Kate will be defending her dissertation on July 27. 

Cornelia Loos (upper right) has accepted a two-year postdoctoral position in Linguistics at the University of Göttingen in Germany. She’ll be working in Göttingen's Sign Lab, with Prof. Markus Steinbach. Conni will be defending her dissertation on June 29.

Maria del Mar Bassa Vanrell (lower left) will be a visiting lecturer next year at Wellesley College in Massachusetts. Mar will also be defending her dissertation later this summer.

Kyle Jerro (lower right) has accepted a two-year position as a lecturer in the Department of Language and Linguistics at the University of Essex in England. Kyle received his Ph.D. here in 2016; this last year he has been a postdoctoral researcher here in the department.
