Community Partnerships

Public Engagement extends LLILAS Benson’s core activities of education, research, and exchange to K-12 and post-secondary schools, businesses, civic, and nonprofit organizations, and the general public. Just as we see our students and faculty as agents of change for the region, we believe it is our responsibility to create opportunities for residents of our state—and beyond—to engage in programs and partnerships that promote constructive association with Latin America.

LLILAS Benson seeks to be an agent of change within our community, working with Latino and Latin American immigrant populations as well as the organizations that serve them. Central to our mission is a desire to improve the well-being of the people of the region, both north and south of the U.S.–Mexico border.

LLILAS Benson works with community organizations by providing student and faculty linkages, event space and coordination, and, when funding is available, small co-sponsorships. If you think your organization could benefit by working with our students, faculty, or staff, please contact LLILAS Benson Public Engagement Coordinator Lindsey Engelman.
