Project GO! (Global Officers) is a collaborative initiative that promotes critical language education, study abroad, and intercultural dialogue opportunities through language study scholarships for ROTC students. The US military needs future military officers who possess the cross-cultural communication skills required for effective leadership in the 21st century operational environment. Project GO! provides scholarships to ROTC students to study critical languages domestically and abroad via a network of 20 participating universities nationwide.

Project GO! is a new program open to current ROTC students at institutions of higher education to enhance their language-learning experience.

 With Project GO!:
  • Participants will take language and immersion courses in Arabic, Turkish, and Russian

  • UT-Austin participants in the Project GO! Academic Year Program can complete their language requirement in one year with intensive (6-hour) language classes in the fall and spring, and with additional free support from a grad student mentor

  • Eligible ROTC students in Texas can apply to participate in a Project GO! Summer Program abroad funded by the Department of Defense.

Summer study abroad will consist of 8-weeks in either Russia, Morocco or Turkey, including language courses and a rich cultural program. **Study abroad program & travel costs are covered by Project GO!
