Fri, February 8, 2013 • 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM • Ballroom (2.421), Student Activity Center, The University of Texas at Austin
In it's second year, the Gloria Anzaldúa luncheon is an event that serves to honor the work and legacy of Gloria Anzaldúa and other queer feminists of color. A two-day event, the first day will be composed of an evening intersectionality and community organizing workshop. The second day is a catered luncheon featuring keynote speaker Kim Katrin Crosby.
Gloria Anzaldúa; cultural theorist, writer, and teacher was a guiding force in the Chicana/o movement in the 1960s and 1970s and in lesbian/queer theory. The papers of Anzaldúa, who grew up in the Rio Grande Valley, are archived in the Benson Latin American Collection.
Kim Katrin Crosby is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist, activist, consultant, facilitator, and educator. She supports the creation of community arts and allocation of resources. She performs workshops and educates about intersectionality across the United States and Canada.
We look forward to having you a part of this wonderful celebration!
