Visiting writer H.L. Hix is the author of numerous books of poetry, criticism, and translations, among them Legible Heavens (2008), God Bless (2007), and As Easy as Lying: Essays on Poetry (2002).  In 2006, his collection Chromatic was selected as a finalist for the National Book Award.  Hix's most recent book of poems, Incident Light (2009), was hailed by Publishers' Weekly as "a fine addition to this protean poet's fast-growing (and critically lauded) body of work."
