Larry Tritle, professor of ancient history at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, is author of From Melos to My Lai and many other books on ancient Greek history, including The Peloponnesian War, published in 2004. Larry offers a regular seminar at LMU on the intersections between the ancient and modern experience of war, and organized the Bellarmine Forum that studied all aspects of violence in society including its realities, symptoms, and possible solutions. Before the lunch, Professor Tritle will give a classics colloquium talk entitled "Vergil and the Roman Face of Battle," on Wednesday, December 6, 3:30 p.m. in WAG 116.
