Biography

Emily Hendrick is a Ph.D. candidate in the Health Behavior and Health Education program in the department of Kinesiology and Health Education. Broadly, her research interests include understanding and reducing maternal, child, and adolescent health disparities by investigating the determinants of women’s health behaviors and health across the reproductive years. Within this, she focuses on 1) the developmental period of adolescence as a time of vulnerability and opportunity in shaping women's health behaviors and health across the life course, 2) the intergenerational transmission of health and well-being from mothers to children, and 3) the intersection of education and health.

Emily holds a Master's in Public Health from the division of Maternal and Child Health at UC Berkeley's School of Public Health and has over a decade of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating public health programming aimed at reducing maternal, child, and adolescent health disparities in the US, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
