Ars Poetica: Culture, Politics & Poetry by Adi Keissar

A lecture by Adi Keissar, Israeli poet and founder of the contemporary Israeli poetry group, ‘Ars Poetica.’

Keissar will be reading some of her poetry in Hebrew, followed by the readings in English, and concluding with a discussion of social hierarchy in culture, identity in poetry, 'Ars Poetica' poetry project and its impact on culture in Israel.

Adi Keissar represents a minority group in Israel (Mizrahi Jews), and is a strong female voice that poses a serious alternative to mainstream Israeli poetry and cultural narratives.
