"Kristallnacht" Herschel Grynspan: Hero or Anti-Hero?
Faculty Student Seminar: A Talk by Dr. Gideon Greif
Wed, November 9, 2011 | Texas Hillel Library, 2105 San Antonio St.
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
Professor Gideon Greif, Schusterman Visiting Professor and noted Holocaust scholar, revisits Herschel Grynspan's November 7, 1938 shooting of a German diplomat in Paris, the event the Nazis used as an excuse to call for the German people to "rise in bloody vengeance against the Jews."
The result was Kristallnacht, the November 9th beating, killing, and incarceration of Jews, as well as burning, looting, and destruction of Jewish synagogues and businesses all over Germany.
Lunch will be served. Please RSVP by November 2nd to firstname.lastname@example.org
