The Schusterman Center for Jewish Studies presents monthly lunchtime lectures from Jewish Studies faculty at the university and beyond. Lectures are free and open to the public, with a kosher lunch provided by Lucy's European Cuisine.
Alan Astro (Ph.D., Yale University, 1985) is Professor of Modern Languages & Literatures at Trinity University. His research and teaching interests include French language and literature (20th-century, especially Beckett and Perec), and civilization (especially history and sociology of French Jewry); Spanish language and Latin American literature (A. Reyes and J. L. Borges); and Yiddish language and literature (Yiddish writers in France and Latin America).
