Third Annual Latino-Jewish Freedom Seder
Wed, March 26, 2014 | Texas Hillel, 2105 San Antonio St.
5:45 PM - 8:00 PM
Join the Latino-Jewish Student Coalition for an unforgettable evening of singing, storytelling, and eating to celebrate the shared connection between Latinos and Jews as we come together to learn about the modern struggle for opportunity and freedom that members of the Latino community are still fighting for.
The traditional seder is a ritual meal during the Jewish holiday of Passover celebrating the Jewish people’s freedom from slavery in Egypt and the journey to find a new land to call home. At the seder, we will highlight stories of current immigration struggles facing the Latino community and their quest to find a new home in the United States, as well as stories of cooperation between these communities over a delicious and highly untraditional Passover meal.
