Join us for "Globally Speaking: Preparing Students for Using Languages in the Global Workplace" with Dr. Pete Smith and Dr. Lonny Harrison, UT-Arlington and Dr. Thomas J. Garza, UT Austin

This workshop is for teachers of all languages and cultures, in high school and in post-secondary institutions, who are interested in preparing their students to become “global citizens” capable of participating fully in career and educational opportunities abroad. Each of the three sessions will discuss projects that require students to interact with L2 languages and materials in global environments. Practical techniques for using technology (Skype, distance education, social networks, etc.) to foster authentic interaction with student peer and professional groups will be demonstrated. Participants in the workshop will become familiar with ways to utilize these techniques and materials with students in their own courses.

CPE credits are available. Lunch and coffee breaks are included in the nominal tiered registration fee ($5 for students, $10 for K12 teachers, and $20 for all others). Register here!
