What to Expect at Freshman Orientation

Here is a brief rundown of the academic meetings and material you will cover at Liberal Arts Orientation.  Please refer to the orientation schedule from the New Student Services Web page for a detailed agenda that includes all UT Orientation meetings and events.

Day 1

Departmental Workshop
At the workshop you will meek students in your major, learn about degree requirements and the opportunities that exist within your field of study. 

Community Meeting
Everyone will attend a meeting related to their first-year community. Some students will have one already selected and some students will join one at orientation.

Day 2

Liberal Arts College Meeting
Here you will hear from academic advisors, student leaders and faculty about how to take advantage of all the great resources and opportunities in your four years at UT Austin.

Academic Advising and Orientation Advising
Each student will get to meet with a staff advisor and student advisor. 

Day 3

Academic Advising and Orientation Advising
There will be continued opportunities to talk to advisors.

Math Testing
Most students will take a math test depending on your major and academic goals.
