Biography


Amanda Tovar (she/her/hers/ella) is a Xicana from the Borderlands of South Texas. She has her MA & BA in Mexican American Studies from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Her areas of research focus on the intersection of sexual assault and colonialism in South Texas and the ancient philosophies that have always existed in practice without a name amongst Xicanx communities, which she approaches through decoloniality. Outside of academia Amanda focuses on gardening, yoga, healing and snuggling with her pupper—Brady!
