AMS department members speak at UT Chancellor's Council Annual Meeting on 'The End of Austin'

Thu, May 8, 2014

Last week, three members of the American Studies department - Dr. Randy Lewis and graduate students Sean Cashbaugh and Carrie Andersen - were invited to speak to the University of Texas Chancellor's Council Annual Meeting about The End of Austin. The End of Austin is a digital humanities project housed in the department that explores Austin's changing identity and endeavors to start a conversation about how to ensure the city's future survival.

After a 45-minute presentation about the project, the American Studies department, and the city's challenges and virtues, the three engaged in a spirited Q&A period where members of the council shared their own concerns about Austin.
