Professor Tucker has spent almost three years conducting ethnographic research on Andean popular music, media circulation, and social change in Ayacucho and Lima, Peru. He is currently working on a project that draws upon fieldwork at record companies and radio stations, as well among musicians and listeners, in describing the role of mediators in shaping public imageries of Andeanness and indigeneity within Peru’s national space.
