The fossil record of Asia has historically been marginalized in models of human evolution.  But what does the evolutionary history of Homo sapiens in Asia look like when it is not filtered through the lens of the African and European data?  The reasons for the underrepresentation of Asian scholarship in paleoanthropology will be reviewed along with its effects on our understanding of how our species evolved.
