Velasquez is currently working on her doctoral dissertation tittle: "The Paradoxes of Grassroots Peacemaking: Masculinity, Violence and Integenerational Efforts Towards a Post-conflict El Salvador." She holds a M.A. Degreen in Activist-Social Anthropology from Universtiy of Texas at Austin.
