Donald Egan Named Dean's Distinguished Graduate
Donald Egan '17

Undergraduate Anthropology student Donald Egan was named one of the College of Liberal Arts Dean's Distinguished Graduates for 2017.

Mr. Egan graduated with degrees in Anthropology and Biochemistry. During his time at the University of Texas at Austin, he was an advocate for campus safety and health, students with disabilities, and students pursuing careers in medicine. He plans to attend medical school this fall before serving as a physician in the United States Air Force.

The Dean's Distinguished Graduates Program was founded in 1980. Each year, twelve Liberal Arts graduates are selected on the basis of high achievements in scholarship, leadership, and service to the College. Students are nominated by their department. A selection committee composed of College faculty and staff review and rank the nominees, and from this list Dean Randy Diehl selects the twelve recipients.
