Chinese Language Q&A with James Jackson

Thu, February 10, 2011 | ACES 2.402

4:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Are you studying Chinese at UT?  Are you interested in learning a little more options in college and after graduation?

Come meet with UT alum, James Jackson, and chat about studying the Chinese language and options after college.  The informal format of this gathering will be primarily Q & A.

James Jackson is currently taking a year off from Harvard Law School to study at the Inter-University Program for Chinese Language Studies in Beijing, under the auspices of the Blakemore Foundation.   He graduated from the University of Texas in 2007 with a B.A. in Plan II, Asian Studies and Chinese.  He spent two of his undergraduate  years studying abroad in Beijing at IES and then Peking University.  James has held various internships in Beijing (and has applied for many more!) primarily in the legal sector.  After graduating from Harvard in 2012, he plans to pursue a career in corporate law based out of Beijing or Hong Kong and focusing on international M&A transactions.  He is very
excited to have the opportunity to speak with students who are considering taking the same leap he took just a few years ago--moving halfway around the world to live, study, and work in China.
