  1. Get a resignation/retirement letter from staff person. Accept the letter in writing.
  2. Consult the HR Separation Checklist. Make sure that you receive and deactivate any Pro Card assigned to this staff member.

If the staff member is transferring to another department, make sure that you cancel their long distance access code. Otherwise, this will transfer with them.
