Clark Center Cosponsors Conference on Media and Communications Studies

In October, UT-Austin graduate students from the Department of Radio-Television-Film organized the 2019 Global Fusion Conference. The Conference is sponsored by a consortium of universities, including The University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University, Ohio University, Southern Illinois University, University of Virginia, and Temple University.  Since 2000, it has convened scholars of Global Media and International Communications Studies and provided a welcoming space for students to present their research. This year’s participants focused on the relationship between media and politics, paying special attention to issues of climate change, migration, and populism. The Conference program dovetails with the research interests of Clark Center Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Andrew Gibbons. The Edward A. Clark Center for Australian and New Zealand Studies is proud to have been a cosponsor of the Global Fusion Conference 2019.
