"Silver Muse" project receives FASTTex grant

The "Silver Muse" project was the brainchild of Classics Prof. Andrew Zissos, currently at UC Irvine. It consists of selections from Ovid, Lucan, Valerius Flaccus, Statius, and Silius Atticus, presented in hypertext form with reading guides, commentary, metrical guides, bibliography and original essays by leading scholars. Useful material on versification, Roman weights and measures, Roman naming practices, and other commonly sought information is also provided. Silver Muse is now a joint project between UC Irvine and UT Austin Classics Departments, housed here at UT. The content is continually being augmented and updated.
