CMAS recognizes Ana Castillo

The first recipient of the Américo Paredes Literature and Letters Award was the poet, novelist, short story writer, and essayist, Ana Castillo. Long considered one of the leading voices to emerge from the life experiences of Chicanas, Ana Castillo is a prolific author whose work has been critically acclaimed and widely anthologized in the United States and abroad. The ceremony was held on May 5, 2009 at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center.
