Celebración de Independencias: La Revolución Sigue

Thu, September 13, 2012 | Gregory Plaza, Speedway and 21st Street, The University of Texas at Austin

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Celebración de Independencias is a cultural event hosted annually by Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc., Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity Inc., and Mexican American Culture Committee of the Student Events Center/UT Austin.

The event is held to celebrate the nine Latin American countries that gained their independence in September which are Belize, Brasil, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, México, and Nicaragua. During this event, we will celebrate the cultures of these countries by having tables with information about the rich history and cultures of the countries. We will also have music, live entertainment and free food to those who attend.

A voting registration table will be at the event to help register voters and provide information regarding the voting process for the upcoming fall elections.
