CMAS announces winners of Sam Z. Coronado Poster Art Scholarship competition
First Place Winner, Jenna Ma

On January 24, 2017 CMAS celebrated the beginning of another academic semester with its annual Celebración event. The event also served as a showcase for the winners of the 2017 Sam Z. Coronado Student Poster Art competition.

This year’s theme was Dreams/Sueños. The selection committee for the competition deliberated in late December to choose the winners, and after examining all the wonderful entries the following were chosen as the recipients of the scholarship:

First Place: Jenna Ma

Second Place: Josefina Mancilla

Third Place: Janine Delgado

Honorable Mention: Levi Romano

These pieces were chosen because of their unique depiction of this year’s theme, while still incorporating various themes surrounding education, immigration, and perseverance.

The Center is proud to continue this longstanding competition that has yielded great pieces by our student population. If you would like to see previous winners, please visit our website or come to our offices. We proudly display the winning pieces to remind us of the creativity and ingenuity that our students bring to campus.
