Daniel Mendelsohn Lecture at UT - December 5, 2017
Daniel Mendelsohn
The Program in Comparative Literature is proud to co-sponsor this event.  We want to inform you of the following events involving Daniel Mendelsohn taking place on Tuesday, December 5:

• 2-3pm (WAG 116): "Stories of Homecoming from Homer to Mendelsohn: A Public Discussion”

For most Americans our country is the land of no return, a land to which our ancestors came and stayed, uprooting themselves forever from the lands and families they left behind. In Daniel Mendelsohn’s new book, An Odyssey: A Father, A Son, and an Epic, he recounts how teaching Homer’s Odyssey in a class that included his octogenarian father changed their relationship. We invite members of the UT community and greater Austin to come and discuss their thoughts on homecoming and family relationships after reading Mendelsohn’s book.

Open to the public, prior registration via EventBrite required:

• 5-7pm: Prothro Theater (HRC): author reading, discussion, book signing of An Odyssey, a Son, and an Epic by Daniel Mendelsohn
