Jefferson Book Club: Dante, Purgatorio (excerpt)

Wed, April 8, 2015 | WAG 403B

5:00 PM

For this meeting, we'll be discussing some of the Cantos from Dante's Purgatorio and Paradiso that deal with the question of love: what it is, how it comes into being, and whether loving rightly or wrongly can be considered meritorious. We'll also consider how Dante distinguishes the way in which this question appears to reason alone from the way in which it appears to faith.

The discussion will be led by Jefferson Center Lecturer and Assistant Director Erik Dempsey.

Paper copies of the reading are available for pick-up in BAT 2.116.
