Using the poetry of Dionne Brand's Inventory as a starting point, this talk critically interrogates the pedagogies and current politics of travel -- expedited removals, biometrics, deportation, and threat assessments at the border -- with particular focus on the gendered and racial dynamics of border crossings. This talk will be accompanied with Korsakow nonlinear documentary featuring scenes from various airports and other spaces of border crossings.
