Faculty: Core and Associate Status

Faculty at The University of Texas at Austin can be officially affiliated with the Center for Women’s & Gender Studies (CWGS) as Core Teaching Faculty, Core Faculty, or Associate Faculty.  We invite all tenured and tenure-track faculty at UT Austin to consider affiliating with CWGS.

CWGS Core Teaching Faculty are appointed with a 0% FTE in Women’s and Gender Studies, in addition to their departmental appointment. They can request funds (as available) from CWGS to support their research and allied activities, and can be considered for the Gilbert Teaching Excellence Award, which is awarded in alternate years to tenured and untenured faculty. In addition they can request a full review of their promotion case by a CWGS faculty committee to accompany their departmental review, if desired.
