Japan Earthquake Relief
Yokota Air Base where people take shelter

Dear Students and Colleagues,

You are undoubtedly aware of the disaster and unfolding tragedy in Japan because of the earthquake and tsunami last week.  The loss of life and destruction of property have been catastrophic, and this situation has been compounded by the dangers posed by the damage to the Fukushima nuclear plant.  If you are looking for a way to express your concern, you might wish to make a donation to the the Red Cross disaster relief effort.   Here is a link that will allow you to make a direct contribution to the Red Cross:  https://american.redcross.org/site/Donation2? idb=0&5052.donation=form1&df_id=5052.

You may also text your donation. Here's some more information about making a $10 donation through the Red Cross via text. Briefly, the directions state:

"Text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10".

The link explains the process: http://american.redcross.org/site/PageServer?pagename=ntld_nolnav_text2help

Thanks for your consideration.
