CMAS hosts symposium on legacy of Américo Paredes

The Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS) announces the first event recognizing the 40th anniversary of the establishment of CMAS. "CMAS@40: Américo Paredes Remembered" features presentations focusing on the life and work of Dr. Américo Paredes. Panelists include: Dr. Manuel Medrano, professor of history at the University of Texas at Brownsville; Dr. Teresa McKenna, associate professor of English, American studies and ethnicity, and Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Southern California; and Dr. José E. Limón, the Mody C. Boatright regents professor in American and English literature at The University of Texas at Austin.
