The South Asia Insitute will host Mohammed Hanif, the Pakistani author and journalist on January 27-28, 2014.
Mohammed Hanif's novel A Case of Exploding Mangoes was longlisted for the Booker prize, shortlisted for the Guardian first book award, Commonwealth literary prize and won Shakti Bhatt first book awards. His new novel Our Lady of Alice Bhatti is published by Jonathan Cape. He works as a special correspondent for BBC Urdu and is based in Karachi
Hanif writes with equal ease in Urdu and English. His work is dripping with wit and satire, but he has turned to serious political reporting when there has been a need, especially with the political murders and disappearances in Baluchistan.
