Stay Tuned: The 2016 Austin Film Festival panel entitled “Deconstructing Jane Austen” will air  July 29th on KLRU’s On Story. The panel features Sense and Sensibility (1995) film director Ang Lee, Lizzie Bennet Diaries (2012-2013) director Bernie Su , Jane Austen Book Club (2007) director Robin Swicord, and Janine Barchas, Ph.D., professor in the UT Department of English and creator of the “What Jane Saw” digital exhibition. Together, panelists discuss the relate-ability of Jane Austen’s work across creative genres and centuries, her irrepressible female leads, and her indomitable wit.

Austin Film Festival’s On Story is a half-hour TV series that explores the creative process behind movies and shows. The “Deconstructing Jane Austen” episode is scheduled to air July 29th on KLRA at 7:30pm in Austin. It will re-air twice more on the following days and will go live July 29th on the On Story website, where it can be viewed at any time.
