Congratulations to our very own Donna Kornhaber for receiving the President’s Associates Teaching Excellence Award! Every year recipients of these awards are recognized for their commitment to inspire through the teaching of undergraduates in the core curriculum. Based on nominations, these award-winners are acknowledged for their innovative educational practices and outstanding teaching records.  

Donna Kornhaber is Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Texas at Austin, where she teaches film. She is also an affiliated faculty member with the Department of American Studies. Dr. Kornhaber was recently named a 2016 Academy Film Scholar by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for her project Women’s Work: The Female Screenwriter and the Development of Early American Film. She is a recipient of the 2016 University of Texas System Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award, the highest teaching honor within the University of Texas system, as well as the Raymond Dickson Centennial Endowed Teaching Fellowship and the Josefina Paredes Endowed Teaching Award, both from the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin.
