The Department of French and Italian

Three French & Italian faculty members receive research awards from the College of Liberal Arts.

The Department of French and Italian is pleased to announce that three of our accomplished faculty members have been granted College of Liberal Arts research awards for the 2012-2013 year:

Associate Professor of French Linguistics Carl Blyth was awarded a 2012-2013 Faculty Research Assignment for his project "Cross-cultural Stances in Online Discussions: French and American Ways of Expressing Opinions."

Assistant Professor of French Linguistics Bryan Donaldson is the recipient of a 2012-2013 College Research Fellowship for his project "The Role of Semantic Differentiation in a Case of Syntactic Change in Old French." He was also granted a 2012 Summer Research Assignment for his work on "Object Pronoun Placement in Old Occitan: Discourse Organization and Word Order."

Associate Professor of French and Comparative Literature Alexandra Wettlaufer was awarded a 2012-2013 College Research Fellowship Special Service Award for her project “Translating George: Eliot, Sand, and the Novel in France and Britain, 1830-1900.”
