Research Spotlight: Dr. Paul C. Adams

Dr. Paul C. Adams, associate professor in the Department of Geography and the Environment and Director of the Urban Studies Program, has submitted materials for his fifth book A Companion to Media Geography: Place/Space/Media (Ashgate Publishing, 2014). He is co-editing the book with Dr. Jason Dittmer (University College London) and James Craine (Cal State, Northridge). The work includes research and reflections on cinema, photography, dance, postage stamps, videogames and various other media. Adams' chapter explores considerations of "the word" as a space in its own right.

Dr. Adams is also working with Routledge on his sixth book. He will collaborate with four co-authors on the book Communications /Media /Geographies. Other authors include Julie Cupples (University of Edinburgh), Kevin Glynn (Massey University, New Zealand), Andre Jansson (Karlstad University, Sweden), and Shaun Moores (University of Sunderland, UK). This book considers the geography of media and communications from "both sides" of a disciplinary divide, combining the perspectives of geographers with those of media and communication scholars.
