Dr. Robin Doughty's Lecture Series on Birds in Art and Literature
An Example of a Bird in Art

Dr. Robin Doughty explores how we depict birds in arts and in letters. Beginning with prehistoric representations, Dr. Doughty tracks our fascination with birds  and how interest expressed through paintings and poetry expands into popular enjoyment through artists and authors who have recently promoted the study and conservation of birds.

Dr. Doughty will be giving lectures of Birds in Art and Literature to the Odyssey Division at the University of Texas, Austin on October 13, and to a Travis Audubon Society workshop on November 4 and 11th, 2009. Both meetings are open for registration.
