Mon, April 23, 2012 | Burdine Hall 337

2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Andreas Dresen, one of the most critically acclaimed German filmmakers working today, is in Austin to show his most recent film, "Stopped on Track" (Halt auf freier Strecke). This heart-wrenching portrayal of a young family faced with the husband’s terminal cancer won numerous awards at film festivals in Cannes, Karlovy Vary, Ghent, Chicago, and others; it was voted film of the year at the 2012 Berlin Film Festival. During the conversation, Dresen will answer questions about his own work and filmmaking in Germany today.

The event is organized in conjunction with the US pre-premiere of Stopped on Track at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema South Lamar on 4/23/2012 at 7 PM; the screening (free with UT ID) will be followed by a discussion with the director.
