Anthony Calacino is a Ph.D. student in the Government Department at the University of Texas at Austin. He is interested in environmental politics with a regional focus on Latin America. He is most focused on Brazil and is a member of the Brazilian Studies Association. He received his B.A degree from the University of Utah's Honors College where he majored in Political Science with minors in Mathematics and Arabic.

He is currently working on a project to compare the influence of international pressure on different Brazilian governments with regards to environmental governance.
