Carel Bertram, IHS Fellow and Associate Professor of History at San Francisco State University, is the author of Imagining the Turkish House: Collective Visions of Home (University of Texas Press, 2008).  Her current research focuses on Diaspora Armenians from Anatolia, investigating their histories and historic consciousness as they make pilgrimages to the lost homes of their families.
