Top-rated podcast 15 Minute History recently received high praise in UT’s Daily News. “Heavily shared on social media, the individual podcasts are routinely among the most popular pieces of content coming out of the university. As extensions of UT's educational mission, they are a communications home run.”

15 Minute History is devoted to short, accessible discussions of important topics in World History and US History. Last spring, iTunes U data for 15 Minute History reflected over 85,000 subscribers. Since the site launched in Oct. 2012, the site has had: 871,514 downloads, 283,267 streams, 563,681 visitors, and 85,781 subscribers.

The podcast is hosted by co-creators Joan Neuberger, Professor of History, and Christopher Rose, Doctoral Candidate in History and Outreach Director in the Center for Middle Eastern Studies. Neuberger is also the Editor of Not Even Past, Thinking in Public: Public Scholarship at UT Austin, and Behind the Tower: New Histories of the UT Tower Shooting.

Join Neuberger, Rose and other scholars, for a panel discussion on doing public history, that will highlight 15 Minute History (as well as Not Even Past, and Thinking in Public), along with the challenges and rewards of doing public history.
