Controversy & Conversation Film Screening: "GTFO"

Thu, November 3, 2016 | APL Terrazas Branch Library, 1105 East César Chávez Street, Austin, TX 78702

7:00 PM - 8:45 PM

This month we will watch and discuss GTFO, the 2015 documentary by filmmaker Shannon Sun-Higginson. The film pries open the video game world to explore discrimination and misogyny in the 20-billion-dollar industry. In recent years, the gaming community has grown more diverse than ever, leading to an extraordinary clash of values. Through interviews with video game developers, journalists and academics, GTFO paints a complex picture of the video game industry and the acts of harassment that women experience. Join in the conversation sparked by this documentary, contributing to the vision of the future of the video game world.
